secret mine management plan being ammended

Xstrata is seeking to amend the much discussed but very secret mine management plan (MMP) to enable them to expand production and reduce the life of the mine.
It would be great if I could tell you more about the MMP (which is the central approval document that details mining conditions), but the NT Government has so far refused to release it.
If you believe that the MMP should be a public document then please contact your local NT member of Parliament (contact details for NT parliament) and ask them to release the document.
While you are talking/writing to them, ask if they believe wether a 21 year mine that doesn’t pay royalties is better than a tropical river?
